ifoundonline how to build a water barrel

Published by ifoundonline at 12:45 am under Uncategorized Edit This

If you’re like me, you want to keep your flowers watered during the hot summer months.  In our area, we can sometimes have a water shortage which our town places a watering ban to all home owners.

I had been searching for a way to save on our watering costs and be helpful to the environment.  I found a great way to save on watering costs.  Build a watering barrel on each down spout from the roof of our house.  I decided to build these watering barrels for each downspout of the house so that I could save water into the summer months.

After building them and creating a nice design to go over them so that they don’t stand out in the yard, I was able to water any of our plants during the July and August months.  I was excited to have saved over 4 and a half barrels of water into the end of July.  I had enough water going into August that we didn’t even use water from my own tap.

Well, I have said enough about it, here is a link that I found giving you a great run down of how to build rain water collection barrels.
